High Tatras - Hikes through Valleys
|
These hikes along the tree line, through valleys, to tarns and to hikers' lodgings
are for more demanding hikers.
These routes require typical hiking equipment (see "Hiking Equipment" below)
and good health and physical condition.
From Strbske Pleso
via lift up to Solisko (1815 m), then Blue trail to the valley Furkotska dolina, then Yellow trail to the tarn Nizne Wahlenbergova (2053 m). Return: Yellow trail to the base of the valley, then Red trail to Strbske Pleso. Total time: cca. 4 hours.
red trail, to the tarn Popradske pleso (1494 m), then Blue trail to the tarn Velky Hincovo (1946 m). Time: cca. 3 hours.
From Stary Smokovec
via incline plane up to Hrebienok (1263 m), then to the chalet Zbojnicka chata (1660 m) or chalet Teryho chata (2015 m). Return by the same route. Time: ascent takes 3 to 4 hours.
From Tatranska Lomnica
blue trail to the waterfall Studeny potok, then to Starolesnianska polana (formerly "Kamzik polana", 1295 m), then Red trail to the tarn Skalnate pleso (1751 m), then Blue trail around Mala Svistovka to cableway station Start, then Green trail to Tatranska Lomnica. Total time: cca. 6 hours.
bia the road Cesta Slobody to Tatranske Matliare, then Blue trail to the tarn Biele pleso (1612 m), then Red trail to the tarn Zelene pleso (1545 m), then Yellow trail to the bus stop at Biela Voda. Total time: 6 hours.
From Javorina
green trail through the valley Javorova dolina to the mountain meadow Javorinka (1350 m), then back. Time: 2 to 3 hours.
From Lysa Polana
blue trail through the valley Bielovodska dolina to Polana pod Vysokou (1310 m), then the the tarn Litvorove pleso (1863 m). Time: 3 to 4 hours.
